Guided by sporting superstars Ardie Savea, Ameliaranne Ekenasio, and Kane Williamson, employees form teams, build their avatars and track their activity and other healthy behaviours in the real world to experience a virtual tourism adventure from Madagascar to Machu Picchu.

Not  only does the event make a big impact on team spirit, a recent study by ASICS of desk based employees found after just one week of increased activity, employees’ State of Mind scores increased by 22.5%, anxiety levels dropped by 12%,  perceived stress levels decreased by 14.7% and Productivity was boosted by 33.2% - all from just 15 mins of movement during the workday!

Many of our clients use the program as a highly visible annual event that drives engagement in their overall wellness program and recover the minor cost from reduced absence during the event, whilst experiencing a more engaged and productive workforce.

The Program

It’s easy to run, we provide you with engaging internal promotional material and employees form into teams and register using your login details.

 

You can set a maximum entrant number to suit your budget and track progress of registrations and the live event via the admin login we provide.

​Once registered, each participant personalises their experience by building their own unique avatar.

 

This creates a real buzz in the workplace as entrants build and compare avatars and leads to increased participation of employees who often do not take part in wellness initiatives.

To complete the course, participants enter their daily steps & other activity into the challenge site.

It's a team event, so the team's average points moves them around the course. This means teammates can have different levels of activity but by working together, easily achieve the team goal.

When teams reach each destination, they are rewarded with a video of their unique avatars exploring that location. 

 

This virtual tourism experience motivates entrants to keep up their activity to unlock the next video, and for those participants who enjoy the competitive aspect, they can track all teams progress on the Leaderboard.

To provide inspiration and motivation we have some sporting superstars who will be leading the teams through their virtual adventure and providing wellbeing tips along the way.

 

We also provide a weekly update with mini-challenges and the opportunity to win sports shoes from our partner ASICS.

The length of the event is customisable from 4 - 12 weeks and we can add some special features just for your people - we have included avatars of CEOs to feature in the videos and deliver a message to their staff and created start day videos of employee avatars leaving from clients office buildings.

About Us

Kim Harvey, founder Young and Healthy Charitable Trust

For over 25 years, founder of the Young and Healthy Charitable Trust Kim Harvey has poured her energy, passion and knowledge into inspiring and empowering people, big and small, to nurture and improve their mental and physical health and wellbeing as well as they possibly can by taking small steps, every single day. 

Young & Healthy Trust 2019 | Zespri Younf & Healthy Virtual Adventure

Kim started her journey by developing a home-based activity program for families to help them find their way to create sustainable healthy habits.  With funding from Sport Auckland and teamed with a DHB dietician, she often brought her families together to have fun being active together in a supportive environment.  This was so effective it was rolled out nationwide under the Green Prescription “Active Families” banner and continues today. 

 

Seeing a gap in the market for a truly engaging workplace wellbeing program, Kim then worked with a passionate group of animators and developers at Azion Wellness to create an entertaining, online wellbeing challenge that has been embraced by workplaces in New Zealand and Australia for it's effectiveness in helping individuals to embed daily healthy habits that have long term positive impacts.

 

In 2019, Kim established the Young and Healthy Charitable Trust to provide a children's wellbeing program at no cost to schools nationwide and with the support of partners Zespri and ASICS the program is now helping over 20,000 children annually cultivate habits that will lay the groundwork for a lifetime of health and vitality. 

 

Now in 2024 we are pleased to once again work with Azion Wellness to release an updated version of the very successful workplace program with the proceeds helping us deliver our school program at no cost to thousands more kiwi kids.
